Meet the Panel
Jessica Silverman
Jessica Silverman is an ambitious, innovative, and internationally renowned gallery that builds artists’ careers and supports art buyers keen on establishing noteworthy collections.
The eponymous gallery was founded in 2008 after Silverman had completed an MA in Curatorial Practice at the California College of the Arts, after a BFA from Otis College. Silverman sat on the San Francisco Arts Commission for nine years and is happy to consult on public art projects.
The gallery represents artists who make museum-worthy art at all stages of their careers. Works by the gallery’s artists have been acquired by museums such as the Tate (London), Centre Pompidou (Paris), and MoMA (New York), to name a few.
Jessica Silverman shows regularly at Art Basel Miami Beach and intermittently at the Swiss, Parisian and Hong Kong editions of Basel. The gallery also participates in the Frieze fairs (Los Angeles and Seoul), the Armory (New York), and FOG Design + Art (San Francisco), among others. The gallery is a member of the Art Dealers Association of America (ADAA).
Lock Kresler
Lock Kresler is Senior Director at the Helly Nahmad Gallery in London. Prior to joining Helly Nahmad, Kresler was the Senior Director of Lévy Gorvy’s London gallery, which launched under his leadership in 2014. There, he curated the first retrospective of Gerhard Richter’s Colour Charts in collaboration with the Gerhard Richter Archive.
More recently, he reunited all 23 charcoal-on-paper sculptures by Gilbert & George for The General Jungle or Carrying on Sculpting—the first exhibition in the UK to present the entirety of this seminal body of work since its inception in 1971. In addition to his exhibition work, and building important international public and private collections, Kresler has garnered a reputation for bringing new insight into markets.
Previously he served as Director and Head of Private Sales for Post-War and Contemporary art at Christie’s in London, where he presented When Britain Went Pop. British Pop Art: The Early Years, the first comprehensive exhibition in London to focus on Britain’s contribution to the movement.
